Crime In 18th-Century England
Crime In 18th-Century England20th January 2018, 14:00 to 16:00 at Turnfurlong Junior School, Turnfurlong Lane, Aylesbury (24.2 miles)
John T Smith will present a review of crime in England in the 18th century and the transporting of over 60,000 offenders to lands beyond the seas - and before they were sent to Australia. Botany Bay, Van Diemen's Land and New South Wales all came later, and we know about their history, but most people haven't much idea of where we exported our Buckinghamshire felons before 1787. Come and find out!
Organized by Buckinghamshire Family History Society. Admission to non-members £4.
Free help is available at most Aylesbury meetings, where our databases and libraries are usually available for consultation. Come along to see how the Society can help you.
